Chennai, 14th June 2007... Adlabs and Ocher Studios today revealed the first look of their 3D animated mega-production Sultan the Warrior featuring superstar Rajnikanth.

This is the first time in India that a superstar is being animated. Sultan the Warrior will feature Rajnikanth as a mythological, larger-than-life hero in a gripping action adventure film and will be replete with the stylized Rajnikanth mannerisms and punch lines for which he is known and loved. The film is targeted at adults as well as kids, both in India and the rest of the world.

Sultan is directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth and features music by master composer AR Rahman. The film will launch in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English. Apart from Ocher studios, which is a Chennai-based post-production and animation studio, a set of international specialists will be working on the production and it is expected to set benchmarks in animation production in India. The film is expected to release end of 2008.

Eager fans of the superstar can view the first look of Sultan the movie during the release of AVM’s Shivaji - the Boss, Rajnikanth latest film releasing on 15th June. It can also be viewed at the newly-launched website of the film www.sultanthefilm.com.

Pooja Shetty, Director - Adlabs said, “Sultan is Adlabs' first full-length animation film - a very exciting genre for us as fantasy and animation have universal popular appeal. We are very excited about this project. The film will be marketed in a high-impact 360 degree campaign.”

Soundarya Rajnikanth, Managing Director - Ocher Studios said: “Internationally, the publicity of an eagerly-awaited film starts much before the actual launch which is the model we are following here. Moreover, in this case, we are facing enormous interest from my father’s global fan base keen to know more about his next release and curious to see the new animated look of their icon. This is just a glimpse, there is much more to come”.
